The first blush of the new year has worn off, and now life can feel like how the weather’s been: blah and grey. But, before you give yourself a radical haircut, spend $$$ on a new wardrobe, or attack the cookie drawer (what, you don’t have a cookie drawer?) in a fit of discontent, here are a couple of inspirations, in clothes and in life:
-The Uniform Project:
To raise money for a school in India, Sheen Matheiken wore the same dress every day for a year, accessorizing with found, already owned, and donated clothing. The results: she started just changing her tights and hats, but by the end her creations bordered on art. Her year is done, but other women have taken the challenge of wearing the same dress for a month to raise money for the charity of their choice:

-New Dress a Day:
Marisa Lynch was laid off from a job, turning 30, and burnt out. Inspired by “Julie and Julia,” she gave herself $365 and a goal: repurpose/upcycle an ugly dress every day for a year. Though she has mad sewing skills, she also utilizes tape and staples when necessary. See her work here:

Just seeing something in a slightly different way can allow you to make it fresh and new again. Instead of succumbing to the doldrums of late winter/early spring, I’ve decided to accessorize… my attitude. Hope you are inspired this week!
See you Thursday,
meredith
