1/30: Meet Tanya

Hi Friends:

Happy Monday! I hope your week is starting off right.

This week I wanted to forward a video from Shape magazine. It's an interview with Tanya Beardsley, who is one of heads of teaching for the entire Zumba corporation. Not only do you get to hear about where she's from, you can also see what a huge, worldwide phenomenon Zumba is and the great spirits of the people involved:

As Tanya says, every movement counts--so really, it doesn't matter if you get the steps or not or know what you're doing or not. Just move--it's enough. And smile. ; )

Have a great week! And this Thursday is the last free first Thursday, so come on out and take advantage of it!

Take care,
meredith

1/23: stacking it up

Hi Friends:

First off, thanks for all the well wishing. I feel much better--vertigo, in case you're wondering. I don't know why, the doctor doesn't know why--life is a mystery. For all the people who didn't wish me well, feel free to send me money and gifts to make up for it. : )

This week's post is about a simple solution to a modern problem. Ever go to a restaurant, happy hour, or other social gathering with a bunch of people and then not talk to anyone because everyone was too busy on their iPhone or other device? Yes, nowadays it is possible to spend the whole day with someone and barely speak to them--but if you text them, they will text you right back. ?!

So, here's the solution: phone stacking. When you get to a restaurant, everyone puts their cell phones in a stack in the center of the table. The first one to reach for their device has to pay for dinner, or everyone's appetizers, or something. Another variation is that everyone puts $20 or so with their phone. If you reach for your phone, you forfeit your $20.

I looked this up after spending a party where everyone was playing Words with Friends...

Have a great week!

1/10: tshirt, redux

Hi Friends:

I'm still organizing myself for 2012, so I'm a little behind with, well, everything.

I found a bunch of tshirts. Old tshirts. Ugly tshirts. Stained tshirts. Zumba cut-shirt experiments gone bad. I could throw them away or use them for rags, but that's not any fun! Here are a couple of ideas I've been kicking around for what to do with these durn old clothes:

Hope these inspire you! Have a great week!
